Soccer News 2024/09/06 02:20
Currently ranked 97th in the world by FIFA, the hosts were relegated from Nations League B after finishing bottom of the group stage in the 2022-23 edition of the competition.
Armenia have lost their last five Nations League matches, conceding 17 goals in the process.
It should be noted that prior to those defeats, Havakakan had won their previous three games and were unbeaten in six.
Oleksandr Petrakov's men go into Saturday's clash having lost seven of their last nine matches and failed to win nine of their last 10.
However, while their home form has been anything but stellar, Petrakov's men have won two of their last five.
And while they have struggled for results of late, Armenia have scored in at least 10 of their last 14 games in all competitions.
Opponents Latvia narrowly beat the Faroe Islands 1-0 thanks to a 50th-minute goal from Andrejs Ciganiks.
The visitors are currently ranked 137th in the world and were promoted from the D-League to the C-League in their last Nations League campaign in 2022-23.
Paolo Nicolato's side have failed to win in their last two matches in the competition, but prior to that they had won their last five Nations League games.
Despite losing just once in their last four matches, the 11 Wolves have lost or gone to penalties in 11 of their last 15 matches.
Latvia will need to improve their away form if they are to win on Saturday, as they are winless in their last eight away games, losing six of them.
Armenia possible starting lineup:

Latvia possible starting lineup:
