The Argentina international - who in the last two years has won both the World Cup and Copa America with his national team - has praised Slot's early work at the club, while also admitting that it has been a "period of transition" following Klopp's departure.
The creative and industrious central midfielder has performed well since joining the club in the summer of 2023, becoming a mainstay in the first team. He's widely regarded as one of Slot's biggest assets and based on his recent comments, he's well aware of the task facing Liverpool's new Dutch boss this season.
Speaking to club media, Mac Allister said: "I think the team is still in a period of transition, which is quite normal. Jurgen was here for a good few years. For example, there are some players who had only ever played under Jurgen and had never had another coach. So, it is a significant change within the club, but I think Arne came here with very good ideas and I think that the whole group and the fans can see what he is wanting to do and the ideas he is wanting to express in the team."
The 25-year-old added: "We're all very happy and feel really positive about what is ahead. As I say, we've a lot of games coming up and there's a lot of competition, and that's what we like; this squad is full of great players, and we can take on board the tactical ideas that Arne wants to implement. But as I mentioned, we are in a transitional period and looking to put in place the ideas and concepts that Arne wants us to."
Liverpool quickly bounced back from a surprise defeat against Nottingham Forest last weekend by beating AC Milan 3-1 in the Champions League. The win provided an important mood shift as Slot prepares his side for a Premier League clash with Bournemouth on Saturday.
