It looks like Lee Carsley won't be getting the job as England manager after a disappointing performance at Wembley in the Nations League.England started their October internationals with a 2-1 loss to Greece.
The Three Lions were pretty disappointing for most of the game, and they deserved to lose on Thursday night.
Lee Carsley's decision to field a very attacking squad didn't pay off and will have people wondering if he's the right person for the job as a full-time manager.
After the game, Carsley said he'd tried to be "brave and creative" with the team. It was a bit of a mess, to be honest. The formation he picked was pretty close to a 2-3-5, based on the average positional distribution map in the first half. He then switched to a 4-3-3 and finally a 4-4-2 through substitutions, as England were without an established striker when the game began.
England fell behind not long after half-time and were made to pay for not taking the game to Greece. Star striker Vangelis Pavlidis managed to evade Cole Palmer, Trent Alexander-Arnold and John Stones before firing home from close range, beating Pickford to the ball.
Lee Carsley's side kept looking vulnerable on the counter-attack and were flagged offside again when Greece fired the ball into the net, with Ollie Watkins hitting the crossbar with his first touch after coming on.
Greece were denied two more times for offside before Jude Bellingham equalised with a superb shot from the edge of the box.
But in extra time, Pavlidis scored his second goal of the night, giving Greece the win.
Greece came out on top with three wins from three games, while England came second with two wins and one loss. Greece's next match is against Ireland, while England play Finland.
