Group A1 of the UEFA Nations League (UNL) is still anyone's game after Poland and Croatia played out a thrilling 3-3 draw at the PGE Narodowy Stadium.

Despite benching captain Robert Lewandowski, Poland got off to a flying start, with Piotr Zielinski putting them ahead in the fourth minute. Kacper Urbanski managed to thread an impossible ball through to the Inter Milan midfielder, who then thumped it home into the bottom corner from 12 yards.

It was the start of an incredible 45 minutes of football as Croatia came back from a slow start thanks to an amazing goal from Borna Sosa.

As the ball fell from the cold Warsaw night sky, the defender advanced and hit an unstoppable volley beyond a helpless Marcin Bułka in the Polish goal.

Just ten minutes after the equaliser, the visitors were in the lead. First, Petar Sucic scored after some smart link-up play with Martin Baturina. Then Baturina scored after a defensive mistake from Pawel Dawidowicz.

Croatia seemed to be in control of the game until Nicola Zalewski gave his side a lifeline, scoring with a low shot just before half-time.

If the first half was all about the goalscorers, the second half was more of a showcase for the goalkeepers, especially Marcin Bułka.

The Nice goalkeeper kept his team in it by denying both Luka Modric and Igor Matanović from distance, before producing an incredible save from an Ante Budimir header from close range.

These were crucial moments, as Sebastian Szymanski soon equalised from the edge of the box, set up by the newly introduced Lewandowski.

Bułka did well in the Poland goal, but it was a bad day for Croatia goalkeeper Dominik Livaković. He was sent off for catching Lewandowski's knee with his follow-through after rushing from his area to clear a long ball.

The hosts were up 1-0 thanks to captain Piotr Zielinski, but Croatia scored three goals in seven minutes in the first half, turning the match around.

Poland made a comeback and managed to get a point, with goals from Nicola Zalewski and Sebastian Szymanski."Those seven minutes really shook us, so I have to give the team credit for bouncing back," Probierz said.

We were too easy on the counter-attack. There were a few mistakes in our defensive play. But we're pleased we were able to make up for it with our attacking play.

"Ultimately, everyone wants to win, and that's what matters most to me." Unfortunately, that wasn't there today. "Our defence wasn't as solid as it could have been, and we conceded goals in situations where we were a bit static."

With an extra man on the pitch, Michal Probierz's team had more possession and momentum in the final minutes but couldn't find the goal that would have brought them level on points with their opponents in Group A1.
