Suarez’s deal with the Herons is set to end after the end of this year.

Inter Miami striker Luis Suarez has hinted toward renewing his contract with the Major League Soccer club. He wants to play with Lionel Messi for another season and extend his MLS deal which is set to expire after the end of this year.

The Uruguayan striker, a candidate for the 2024 MLS Golden Boot, has stated that he would like to stay at South Beach longer.

At Inter Miami’s practice on Friday, Luis Suarez informed reporters that he hopes to continue playing with the team after his contract expires in 2024.

“I know my lawyer is speaking with the club,” Suárez told reporters. “I wanted to finish the best way possible, showing the club I have enthusiasm. I feel well physically and I have the desire to continue being a part of the history of this club.”

In 26 games, 20 of which Luis Suarez started, the Uruguayan forward has scored 18 goals and provided seven assists in his outstanding debut season with the team.

Since joining the Herons, prior to the 2024 season, Luis Suarez, 37, has been a valuable acquisition. In 33 club games in all competitions for the MLS side, he has 22 goals and 10 assists. However, a number of factors will be involved in obtaining an extension. Both sides must agree on wages for the duration of the contract.

As the regular season conclusion approaches, Luis Suarez is still vying for the 2024 MLS Golden Boot. He is behind league leader Christian Benteke, who has 23 goals, with one game remaining. That implies that on Saturday night, the Uruguayan would need to score an incredible five goals to tie him or six goals to possibly win the award.

To conclude their regular season, Inter Miami will play the New England Revolution on Saturday night. Their attention will then turn to the 2024 MLS Playoffs, where they want to contend for the MLS Cup as the top seed in the Eastern Conference.
