Fenerbahce coach Jose Mourinho was sent off as his side drew 1-1 with his former club Manchester United in the Europa League on Thursday. Christian Eriksen's early goal was equalised by Youssef En-Nesri in the second half.

Joshua Zirkzee made a short pass that found Eriksen early in the first half. The Danish midfielder then fired home a powerful shot from the edge of the box, putting United ahead in the 15th minute.

United goalkeeper André Onana made a fantastic double save just before halftime to stop Fenerbahce from scoring and keep the home side from equalising.

However, Onana couldn't stop En-Nesri four minutes into the second half. He headed in Allan Saint-Maximin's perfect cross to equalise for Fenerbahce.

Mourinho was sent off in the 60th minute after a heated argument with the referee, during which he appeared to use some strong language.

The last few minutes of the game were pretty uneventful, but United's substitute Anthony was carried off on a stretcher, which is another blow for the team with all their injury concerns.

United drew their first three league games and currently have three points, ranking 21st in the Europa League, while Fenerbahce, who have been unbeaten, have five points, ranking 14th in the Europa League.

Istanbul tonight is set to be a pretty chaotic night, with Fenerbahce coach Mourinho getting sent off for thinking his team should have been awarded a penalty in the second half. After the game, Mourinho went over to referee Clement Turpin and said that his explanation was "unbelievable." Mourinho's character is well documented, and the conflict between him and his former club is well known. This red card is bound to be a hot topic for fans to discuss after the game.

Manchester United were also pretty disappointed with the result. Onana said after the game. "We didn't win, but at least we didn't lose." "Of course, we're not happy, but we'll move on, take responsibility and get back to it."

Anthony, who came on as a substitute for Rashford in the second half, picked up an injury, which meant Eric ten Hag had to deal with nearly 10 injured or unwell players. Manchester United are keen to make some positive progress before Sunday's away game against West Ham United, but can such a makeshift lineup support them to complete the game?
