Betis vs Atletico
Match preview
Real Betis will also be coming into this match off the back of a European fixture, having drawn 1-1 with Copenhagen in the Conference League on Thursday night, a result that left them 27th in the league.
Manuel Pellegrini's side, however, were victorious in their last outing in La Liga, beating Osasuna 2-1 to pick up 15 points and sit seventh in the table with a record of four wins, three draws and three defeats from 10 games this season.
The Sevilla side are just three points outside the top four at this stage of the season and have been relatively solid defensively this term, conceding just nine goals in their 10 games, but the Green and Whites will be up against the best defense in La Liga this weekend, with Atletico having conceded just six goals in 2024-25.
Real Betis have been strong at home this season, winning three and losing just one of their five matches, and will be looking for another win here ahead of their 2024-25 Copa del Rey opener against Gevora.
The Green and Whites have not beaten Atletico in La Liga since February 2019, but the corresponding meeting between the two sides in the 2023-24 campaign ended in a goalless draw.
Atletico were stunned in the Champions League on Wednesday night, losing 3-1 to Lille at the Wanda Metropolitano, with the French side scoring three times in the second half after Julian Alvarez's breakthrough.
Simeone's side were also thrashed 4-0 by Benfica in the Champions League at the start of October, and currently sit 27th in the standings with just three points from their opening three games.
However, the Red and Whites are unbeaten in La Liga this season, winning five and drawing five of their 10 games to collect 20 points and sit third in the table, seven points behind leaders Barcelona.
Atletico beat Leganes 3-1 in the league last weekend, but have been held in three of their five La Liga away games this term, dropping points against Villarreal, Rayo Vallecano and Real Sociedad.
Simeone will be looking for a response from his players on Sunday after their European disappointment, and the capital side have won five of their last six La Liga games against Real Betis.

Team News
Real Betis will be without four players through injury on Sunday, with Giovani Lo Celso, Marc Roca, William Carvalho and Isco all unavailable.
Centre-back Natan is also out through suspension after receiving a red card in the closing stages of last weekend's win over Osasuna.
Lo Celso's absence will be significant as he has scored five of his side's 10 league goals this season, and Pellegrini is expected to revert to a back-two this weekend, with Vitor Roque likely to start alongside Cedric Bakambu.
Atletico will be without Clement Lenglet, Pablo Barrios, Marcos Llorente, Robin Le Normand and Cesar Azpilicueta this weekend.
Simeone will resist the temptation to shake things up after the Lille defeat, but Samuel Lino could be recalled at left-back.
Antoine Griezmann, Alvarez and Alexander Sorloth are all likely to feature again in the final third of the field, and Simeone will be hoping that the trio can start to click in the coming weeks.
