West Ham United full-back Vladimir Coufal is ready to sign a new contract extension at the club.

The Sunday People says the Czech Republic defender isn't planning to go back to his homeland. He wants to stay at the London club.

The 32-year-old right-back is a big asset to West Ham. He's got a contract until the end of the season, but there are already talks going on to keep him at the club beyond the summer.

Coufal is currently behind Aaron Wan-Bissaka in the pecking order, but the Hammers believe he can still be a valuable member of the squad.

He's now ready to sign a new contract extension. His fellow Czech, Tomas Soucek, has two years left at West Ham.

It was a smart move by West Ham to extend Vladimir Coufal's contract. The seasoned defender has started three Premier League games and made five more appearances from the bench.

Julen Lopetegui has mostly used Wan-Bissaka in the right-back position, but Coufal is just as reliable.

Since he joined the Hammers in the summer of 2020 from Slavia Prague, Coufal has made 165 appearances for the club in all competitions.

He's still got plenty to offer, so it makes sense to keep him at the club for a few more years. It's not clear what the deal is, but given his age, it's likely to be short-term.
