Napoli and Khvicha Kvaratskhelia are close to reaching an agreement on the player's contract extension. After some lengthy talks, it seems like a positive outcome is in sight.

Negotiations for Giorgia's new deal at the Stadio Diego Maradona have been on hold since last summer, when the forward turned down the Partenopei's offer. This led to concerns about a potential exit, prompting Antonio Conte to reassure everyone at his first press conference that he wasn't going anywhere.

However, talks between Kvaratskhelia's agents and Napoli have since restarted and, according to Corriere dello Sport, they finally seem to agree on the terms of the new contract, which would include a significant pay rise, bonuses and a buy-out clause.

The newspaper also says that former defender Cristian Zaccardo, who knows the 23-year-old's agents and helped make the move to the Partenopei in 2022, was at the Stadio Olimpico last Thursday to watch Antonio Conte's side take on Lazio in the Coppa Italia, which shows there are still ongoing discussions.

As we've heard before, Giorgia's top scorer should sign a new contract that will keep him at the Stadio Diego Maradona until 2029. It's thought that his salary will rise to around €5.5m a season, with another €1.5m in bonuses for each year he plays.
