Borussia Dortmund are deeply shocked and saddened by the attack that took place at the Christmas Markets in Magdeburg on Friday evening. Our thoughts are with those affected, the victims and their relatives.

In the days leading up to Christmas, when so many families are spending time together and hoping for a peaceful new year, we are shocked by this cruel act. We wish the families of the victims great strength in these difficult times.

There was a minute's silence at the BVB U23s' home game against 1. FC Saarbrücken at Stadion Rote Erde (Saturday at 14:00 CET) to pay tribute to those affected. Both the U23s and the Borussia Dortmund first team (in Wolfsburg, Sunday at 17:30 CET) will take to the pitch for their matches wearing black armbands.
