If Wednesday's events are anything to go by, Saturday's visitors Liverpool are in a great position ahead of their game. After thrashing West Ham United 5-1 en route to last season's EFL Cup title, Slot's side demolished the Irons by the same scoreline in this season's third round.

Diogo Jota and Cody Gakpo both scored twice as Liverpool got off to a flying start in defending their most recent major trophy. It was the perfect start to a great few days for the team, who also beat Bournemouth 3-0 in their last Premier League match.

Luis Diaz continued his great run of form after a summer of transfer speculation, scoring twice against the Bees. Darwin Nunez added a third with a lovely curling strike, giving Slot plenty to think about in the final third.

The Reds have also beaten AC Milan 3-1 in their Champions League opener. In the last two weeks, they've won three times in three different competitions. They're currently Manchester City's closest Premier League challengers, just one point behind the champions in the rankings.

Liverpool have been netting multiple goals in each of their last five away games, even without Jürgen Klopp. They've only let in one goal in the 2024-25 Premier League so far.

On Saturday evening, the league's toughest defence will face the joint-leakiest, as Wolves have let in an alarming 14 Premier League goals. This is on a par with Everton for the worst record in the division, after last weekend's Villa Park disappointment.

O'Neil's team were doing well for about 70 minutes thanks to Matheus Cunha's opening goal, but a late comeback from the Champions League competitors saw Ollie Watkins, Ezri Konsa and Jhon Duran complete a stunning turnaround in the West Midlands match.

September hasn't been a great month for the Wolves faithful. Their team has also been beaten by Brighton & Hove Albion in the EFL Cup and Newcastle United in the Premier League this month. They're currently only ahead of Everton in the league table.

It's not that Wolves are struggling to score goals. In fact, they've scored at least one in each of their last six matches. But their 17-game run without a clean sheet in the Premier League is the longest active streak in the division, stretching back to February's win over Sheffield United.

The hosts could also make history as the first team to lose three straight Premier League games where they were leading at half time. They've lost their last three matches against Liverpool, including a 2-0 loss at Anfield during Klopp's final game in May.
