Tijani Nosselin scored three goals as Lazio beat an understrength Napoli 3-1 in the Italian Cup last 16 at the Stadio Olimpico on Thursday.
The home team dominated for much of the match and had a chance to take the lead after 20 minutes when Pedro was fouled by Napoli goalkeeper Elia Caprile, but Mattia Zaccagani's shot was saved.
The 25-year-old Dutch striker got the first goal in the 32nd minute, heading the ball into the net from close range after his teammate Mattia Zaccagani's penalty was saved.
Giovanni Simeone then made it 1-1 for Napoli, but Nosselin put Lazio ahead again four minutes before half-time.
Just after the second half, Nosselin neatly headed the ball into the far corner to complete his first career hat trick.
Napoli started the match with several key players on the bench, including Hvita Kvaratsklia, Romelu Lukaku and Scott McTominay. It looks like Napoli coach Conte has decided to focus on the Serie A championship rather than the cup.
After losing this game, Napoli is now fighting on one front and is currently leading Serie A with 32 points, but is only one point ahead of Atalanta. Lazio had an easy time of it and made it through to the next round.
However, Napoli will be playing Lazio again at the Maradona Stadium on Sunday, which will be their chance to get revenge.
